In this post, we discuss what’s happening with browser support for the format and how to download Flash video and save it on your computer if you do come across one. That said, many content-protected videos use Flash. In fact, many browsers including Google Chrome are beginning to limit support for Flash video. However, Flash videos aren’t as prevalent as they have been in the past. In this post, we discuss how to download Flash video and save it on your computer. Some of the Flash download products even refer to themselves as a “YouTube Downloader” because of the vast amount of Flash videos available on YouTube. So now there are just a few extra steps, but the paste to the downloads still works as before. The overwhelming popularity and use of Flash (FLV) video online for several years has created an entire cottage industry of software products devoted just to downloading Flash videos. Paste the URL in the Downloads window to download.Select the resource you want, then look to the right of the window under location and copy the full URL.Look for audio, video, etc under the Other folder. Back to the inspector, look at the list of files. Now load the resource you want to download.Go to the web page of the resource you want.

ClickToPlugin is particularly helpful in this regard. This is easiest when the site does not autoload/play a video or music file. If you intend to download anything loaded via a plugin you must have the inspector open before you have the plugin load the resource. Due to a weird flaw in the Inspector, I didn't notice this before.
